Strapping and Taping

Part 1

Basic principles of strapping to include rigid taping, compression, immobilisation and support

Looking at different types of tape and understanding their functions

Practical application of compression strapping of an ankle

Practical application of ankle & thumb rigid strapping

Functional taping of the knee

Part 2

Introduction to the theory of Kinesiotaping.

Investigating Kinesiotape’s uses for:

Inhibition of trigger points

Support injured muscles function

Increase/decrease muscle tone for proprioception

Offloading Myofascial pathways

Use of Myofascial taping in a sporting arena

Myofascial Cupping

This course focuses on the application and theory behind the use of Dry Cupping Therapy. 

This workshop is a practical session to teach you how to integrate cupping into your treatments. You will be practicing Myofascial Dry Cupping techniques throughout the session.

Introduction to theory and physiology of Dry Cupping Therapy

Contraindications and health and safety considerations

Application of how to integrate into your treatments.

Demonstration and Application of Dry Cupping Therapy:

  • static cupping

  • sliding techniques

  • soft tissue release technique using cups

  • active movement within cupping
